Continuing Coding
Students are managing to impress me with every class. I can't wait to see how they tackle the challenges of programming in this upcoming week. Students are using their knowledge of sequencing, area, perimeter, and measuring angles to draw pieces of art with Code Studio.
Computer Science College and Career Community Connections
Students are making a lot of connections to computer science in their own lives. We will begin building on these critical connections in our classroom by highlighting employers, jobs, and colleges in our community that engage the field of Computer Science. I hope to inspire more students to aspire towards computer science fields with clear education paths and goals.
Typing Pal is now in Third Grade
This week some of the third graders will be introduced to Typing Pal in Computer Lab as part of a collaboration effort with their classroom teachers. Previously Typing Pal was reserved for fourth and fifth grade students but has been extended to third grade this year. Typing Pal is an online self-paced program which teaches students proper touch typing techniques ensuring all our Leopold students have what it takes to be college and career ready. Students will be continuing the Typing Pals program over the next few weeks in their classrooms on a daily basis.
